PLAYBACK Clothing: The Greenest Holiday Fashion Gifts For 2010 Designed by Adam Siskind

PLAYBACK Clothing by Adam Siskind leaps ahead of the organic herd this holiday season to offer unique Hoodies and T-Shirt's made from 100% Recycled Materials. That is right 100 % Recycled! PLAYBACK Clothing offers a line of Men's and Women's Hoodies and T-Shirts that will make you look great, feel amazing, and give you the reason to do good for future generations this holiday season. No "Green Washing" here! Most companies that make eco clothing actually end up using just as many or more environmental resources during the manufacturing process than conventionally made clothing. For example, most clothing made out of bamboo is shipped from Asia (because lax environmental laws allow the use of harsh chemicals), a process that negates the benefits of making the "environmentally-friendly" product in the firs women's jackets t place. That's not what PLAYBACK Clothing and Adam Siskind are about. It is questionable if an Organic T-Shirt is better for the environment than a conventional cotton T-Shirt. Future studies will put this question to rest.

PLAYBACK Clothing and Adam Siskind are taking a very transparent approach to Green Fashion and are not fooling or "Green Washing" their customers. Playback Clothing is very forward about how their apparel is made, displaying their manufacturing processes in fun visible displays to educate the consumer how and where the recycled materials are coming from how they are being "Up Cycled" into a new your new favorite T-Shirt or Hoodie. From the Start of PLAYBACK Clothing, Adam Siskind's #1 priority has been to keep PLAYBACK's products Green. Adam Siskind knew the only way to really prove PLAYBACK's environmental credibility was through a detailed Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) study of environmental impact. So Adam Siskind and his team at PLAYBACK Clothing contacted Yale University's School of Environmental Studies. Happily, two graduate students from the program volunteered to conduct an independent study on PLAYBACK in the place of a final exam. In the study, PLAYBACK came out ahead of the conventionally-produced sweatshirt in 23 out of 25 environmental categories. If you are looking for a Green Gift for the enthusiast in your life this Holiday Season PLAYBACK Clothing has a warm hoodie or soft t-shirt for the man, woman, child or friend on your list.

Adam Siskind and PLAYBACK Clothing question "organic" stuff as much as the next sustainable clothing company. Organic products use fewer chemicals. And that's great, for organic food products that are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. But organic cotton actually requires more water and land use due to lower yields, and often still uses harmful dyes. And unlike food, there is no regulatory body that requires a certain percentage of organic contents for a product to be labeled "organic." So in theory, an "organic" clothing company can take a made-in-china t-shirt, slap an organic tag on it and call it a day.

Other products (such as some clothing made from bamboo) also strike-out on sustainability because while their intentions may be good, the process of making the material isn't so good. For example, strong chemical solvents (similar to the contents of Drano) are used to cook bamboo into fiber for clothing. Again, not so great for the environment.

PLAYBACK products are made with 100% recycled materials, with the contents plainly listed on the label. Because we recycle, we save tons (literally) of textile waste from going to landfills. We also require no extra land or water use, and our products come in the original color of the recycled component to minimize dyes. So, you know, PLAYBACK Clothing is kind of on to something here. If you want to give a Truly Green Fashion Gift this Holiday Season PLAYBACK Clothing by Adam Siskind is greenest one out there.

Marc Jacobs Handbag at Marc-Jacobs-Handbag.com

Marc Jacobs is an American fashion designer. He attended the High School of Art and Design and graduated in 1981. From there, Jacobs entered the Parsons School of Design in New York City. At Parsons, Jacobs won the Perry Ellis Gold Thimble Award in 1984, and in the same year was also awarded the Chester Weinberg Gold Thimble Award and the Design Student of the Year Award.

While still at Parsons, Jacobs designed and sold his first line of hand knit sweaters. His first collection that he designed was for Reuben Thomas, Inc. under the "sketchbook" label. At this time in 1984, Jacobs formed his partnership with Robert Duffy, Jacobs Duffy Designs Inc., which continues to this day. In 1986, backed by Kashiyama USA, Inc., Jacobs designed his first collection bearing the "Marc Jacobs" label. In 1987, Jacobs received the distinct honor of being the youngest designer to be awarded the fashion industries highest tribute: The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent.

Marc Jacobs and Robert Duffy joined Perry Ellis in 1989. Robert as the President and Marc as the Vice-President of women's design to create the designer collection and in addition, he oversaw the design of the various women's licensees. In 1992, The Council of Fashion Designers of America, once again bestowed Jacobs with a great honor: The W Tips: Find Street Fashion Online(may be you can find what you want on the oasap.com) omen's Designer of the Year Award.

Following his studies at the Parsons School of Design, he became prominent on the fashion scene when he designed a "grunge" collection for Perry Ellis, leading to his immediate dismissal. Jacobs is currently the artistic director for Louis Vuitton, spearheading such collaborations as Stephen Sprouse's graffiti bags and Takashi Murakami's pastel-colored accessories. His own clothing lines, Marc Jacobs and the less expensive diffusion line Marc By Marc Jacobs, are also extremely popular.

Marc Jacobs has been known to design under his own free will without following trends. In Spring 2004/2005, when designers were following the "safari theme'", Marc Jacobs made his collection completely lady-like and the catwalk which the models walked on had an archway of 450,000 roses. For his fall collection in 2005, he got some terrible reviews and some fantastic ones. He is set to bring out a watch collection this year under the name Marc Jacobs. These watches will be classic and timeless features with a slightly vintage feel. His clothes are available in many countries around the world.

Nanofim found that Sergeant Roy, the husband of MommyPR owner and reviewer Angela Roy, and Spc.Tanguay, husband of reviewer Tina Tanguay, are serving in Iraq. The combination of Clarity Defog It's anti-fog performance and the soldiers' need for clear vision made the donated shipment a perfect juncture of problem and solution.

When approached by Nanofilm, MommyPR reviewer Angela Roy responded, "I am sure my husband and the other guys in Iraq would love to have a shipment of Clarity Defog It from you. For him, clarity is essential, so after testing the product on my own glasses, I was going to send him some myself."

Jodi Groh, Nanofilm Director of Marketing, adds, "We're thrilled to send Clarity Defog It anti-fog to our soldiers in Iraq. They're exactly the reason we it developed it – to prevent fogged eyewear in vision critical situations under the toughest conditions." Nanofilm is also sending Clarity Clean It lens cleaner towelettes to the soldiers. Says MommyPR reviewer Tina Tanguay, "Thanks! Christian College’s Fashion Design Major Students Host Show for Charity in April

George Fox University's fashion design and merchandising students are set to debut the work of 10 student designers in the department's bi-annual fashion show at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, in Wood-Mar Auditorium on the university's Newberg, Ore., campus.

The public is invited to attend at no charge. Tax-deductible donations, as well as gently used professional women's clothing donations, will be taken at the door to benefit the charity Dress for Success Oregon, an affiliate of an international charity that provides low-income women with the tools they need to put them ahead in the job market.

The event, titled "Simmetria: A Fashion Show Celebrating Style from the Past, Present and Future," will feature design inspirations ranging from the chic silhouettes of the 1940s to present-day styles. Produced by 15 students in a fashion show production class, the event will showcase designs that incorporate "flower power," sequins, feathers, velour, wools and more. Designs were inspired by everything from modern and sleek IKEA home furnishings to the flare and sparkle of the Roaring Twenties.

With unique and well-crafted garments, those involved in the show hope to prove they can be competitive with other design programs in the Portland metro area, according to Kristin Rosario, co-director of the show.

It was the students' decision to donate to a charity, putting to work the passion for community leadership and outreach George Fox University hopes to instill in its scholars.

"George Fox is committed to helping the community, and that is something that is very close to my heart," said Shannon Donohue, student designer and co-director of the show. "I love helping others, and the fact that we are partnering with Dress for Success is very exciting. Just knowing that we are making a difference in these ladies' lives makes it all worth it."

A reception will follow immediately after the show, and a gallery of student work will be displayed nearby to highlight the talent and hard work of George Fox fashion design major students.

"A lot of people don't understand the extreme level of passion that goes into a fashion women's jackets major," Rosario said. "It's easy for them to think of our chosen career path as frivolous or unrealistic, but they don't realize how competitive and far-reaching the fashion industry really is. You have to love it and immerse yourself in it or you'll be left behind by those that want it more."

"Our hope with this show is to not only inspire creativity but also a dedication to service and the community."

George Fox University is ranked by Forbes as the top Christian college in the Pacific Northwest and among the top three Christian colleges in the country. George Fox is the only Christian university in the Pacific Northwest classified by U.S. News & World Report as a first tier national university. More than 3,400 students attend classes on the university's campus in Newberg, Ore., and at teaching centers in Portland, Salem, and Redmond, Ore., and Boise, Idaho. George Fox offers bachelor's degrees in more than 40 majors, degree-completion programs for working adults, five seminary degrees, and 11 master's and doctoral degrees.

Houston Author & Speaker, Susan Parker, Tells How to Live Big When Others Would Keep You Small

Susan Parker will deliver a message of hope and inspiration to residents and the general public at Joy Junction, New Mexico's largest emergency homeless shelter.

Consultant and Speaker, Susan Parker knows what it's like to lose hope. She knows what it's like to live small and to feel invisible.

"Like so many others in my family, I reached a point in my life where I didn't want to go on. Even though I had overcome an addiction and had what to some, looked like a near-perfect life, I felt hopeless. After a long journey, I've learned to say "NO" to the negativity around me and in my own head. I've replaced it with the faith, strategies and connections that allow me to adjust my thoughts and beliefs so I can get real about my feelings and make the choices that will lead to a better day."

Susan is a Speaker and Consultant who travels the country and on Thursday, May 26th, she'll speak at Joy Junction and offer a message of hope, encouraging others to Get Real, Seek Help and Live Big. Susan will be selling copies of her best-selling memoir, Walking in the Deep End, with all proceeds benefiting Joy Junction.

Joy Junction is a place of refuge to those who have been forced into the streets. As many as 300 women, children and families count on us each day for food, shelter, clothing, transportation, and an array of other services. While Joy Junction is the largest homeless shelter in New Mexico, it is much more than a homeless shelter. It's a Gospel Rescue Mission that is committed to restoring precious lives which have been forgotten and abandoned by society.

Joy Junction does not receive any government funding, and donors can help provide a hand up to those in need and also accepts donations of food, clothing, furniture, appliances, bedding, linens, household items such as bleach, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, etc. Some of these items are used in the ministry to the homeless and others are sold at the Thrift Store, which serves as a training ground for some of those in the Joy Junction recovery program. Retailer of Women’s Emergency Kits and Safety Supplies Experiences Large Demand for SafetyGirl Work Boots

For women, men's safety products are often too loose or too large. Women working in industrial, construction, manufacturing, or chemical handling environments need personal protective equipment that fits well and protects effectively. As a result, the demand for women's safety products has grown, and is experiencing this need for women's safety products directly, especially for its own SafetyGirl Work Boots.

An online retailer of women's emergency kits and safety supplies, Safety Girl developed its own brand of boots to meet this demand. Parent company Online Stores, Inc. is always on the lookout for introducing its own products, and the large demand for women's safety gear appeared as the ideal opportunity for developing and selling SafetyGirl Work Boots. Introduced in February 2011, SafetyGirl Work Boots started with minimal marketing and a low profile, but over the year, the requests for them increased significantly.

Compared to the competition, SafetyGirl Work Boots offer several benefits for women workers. In composition, SafetyGirl Boots are made with a nubuck upper and a double color rubber outsole. Each pair of boots is equipped with a 100-percent waterproof membrane designed for keeping feet dry all day and a steel toe, which protects the wearer from rolling or falling objects. SafetyGirl Work Boots also cost noticeably less than similar models by competitors. In fact, the price may be 50-percent lower.

Durability and a good fit are not the only qualities women look for in safety gear. The color pink is often a common request. As a result, well-known manufacturers like Fibre Metal and Pyramex offer women's safety products in pink, and SafetyGirl keeps up with this trend. Through the store, women's personal protective equipment, from hard hats to safety glasses to work boots, is available in at least one shade of pink. SafetyGirl Work Boots, as well, come in a shade of pink, and tan is an option for a woman looking for a neutral color. For showing support on the job during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, consider wearing pink SafetyGirl Work Boots and any other pink safety gear.

SafetyGirl Work Boots are sold through women's jackets SafetyGirl.com, as well as other Online Stores sites ConstructionGear.com and DiscountSafetyGear.com; ConstructionGear.com specifically offers a free shipping policy for both orders and returns. As an Online Stores site with growing sales and revenue, Safety Girl provides affordable and high-quality products, fast shipment, good customer communication, and full investigation into complaints. In addition to its own brand boots, Safety Girl offers several types of pepper spray, hard hats, safety glasses, and other personal protective products and work clothing in women's sizes.

A Top 500 retailer, Online Stores, Inc. operates 20 niche websites spanning flags, tea, work clothing, safety gear, garden tools, and promotional products. Unlike other online retailers, Online Stores manufactures, distributes, and customizes many of the products it sells. Press release services provided by Keyword Performance.

Barwear by Chefwear Introduces New Styles At Tales of the Cocktail

Barwear by Chefwear traveled to New Orleans in July to support Tales of the Cocktail for the fourth consecutive year by supplying the event with jackets and aprons from the Barwear line.

"We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to keep working with Tales of the Cocktail every year," said Chefwear's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Carol Mueller. "This is our fourth year running and we really value our relationships with Anne Tuennerman and the event."

Barwear by Chefwear took the opportunity to introduce its first official catalog at this year's event. The line itself has existed since 2010, but with the trend of bar chefs and mixologists becoming a mainstay in the industry, Chefwear decided it was time to expand and offer more products. The process began by reaching out to industry professionals for design ideas.

"We added several new items to the line that give bartenders a great selection and variety to choose from in both men's and women's styles," Mueller said. "The products are made specifically for those in the industry thanks to members from the USBG."

Chefwear's industry focused design is present in many of the new styles, including the [Barwear Moto Jacket, which is made out of stain and wrinkle resistant poly/viscose fabric. The short sleeve bar jacket is stocked in two different colors and customizable in 12 others for that extra touch of personal style to your restaurant uniform.

" women's jackets Chefwear is really the only company out there making clothes for professional bartenders," said Daniel de Oliveira, Brand Ambassador for Pernod Ricard. "They asked for our input in designing the coats and they listened."

Along with the Moto Jacket, the new catalog introduces many new bar jackets and bar shirts along with items from the existing line. These new items are also designed based on the needs and comments from those in the industry.

"Chefwear has made garments to fit our industry," said Lynn House, head mixologist from Blackbird in Chicago. "I feel like they have really listened to the needs and concerns of those in the bartending community."

42% of Americans Obese by 2030. Independent Entrepreneurs are Opening Fitness Centers Hoping for FAT Profit

Bloomberg reports recent findings announced at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Weight of the Nation obesity conference that the obesity crisis will cost millions over the coming years, but that there is some hope in that the rate of the increase in obesity has slowed, still predicted at 42% by 2030. Past studies predicted that 51% of the U.S. would be obese by 2030, but the new study takes into account different variables like new drugs and technologies to lose weight, preventative measures, and other factors that could slow the increase. Many of these are covered in a study published in the American Journal of Preventative Medicine.

The body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat as a percent of body weight and height for men and women. Normal BMI falls between 18.5 and 24.9, overweight from 25 to 29.9, and a BMI of 30 or more is considered obese.

The silver lining may be a small one on a very large cloud. A video released by the CDC (file attached to story) points out that currently obesity is estimated to cost the country $150 billion dollars every year, which is nearly 10% of U.S. total health costs. One in three adults and one in six children are considered obe women's coats online se. Obesity is one of the leading causes of death and contributes to conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.

Increased health consciousness and more awareness of the obesity epidemic have lead to an increase in preventative measures. Experts at fitness centers report that gym membership has been increasing, at least for independent, non-chain fitness centers, and they expect this trend to continue.

According to Fitness Center Developers the obesity crisis is part of what has contributed to higher profitability for independent health centers than ever before, and "gym membership" may be saving the country millions of dollars every year.

There are some conflicting studies though; large chain and national fitness centers have actually reported membership flatlining, even decreasing in some instances. So how are more people going to the gym, yet gym membership is down? It may be due to the emergence of independent fitness centers which do not necessarily follow a specific corporate structure. Fitness Center Developers attribute the success of independent clubs to different customer retention measures which involves identifying 5 different member classifications enabling the independent club to better serve a member's personal preferences, personality, goals as well as many other factors. The classification approach significantly enhances the member's experience at the club resulting in long term membership. Under this strategy for instance, obese members might be categorized as "reluctant" members, and would have a completely different experience than someone who was a regular at the gym, an athlete, or who had a higher level of fitness. This according to the experts, means more obese members staying in the gym longer, and subsequently being able to check themselves out of the obese category.

14 Ways To Never Get Cancer and Love Your Breasts? Womens Breast Health Tips!

Copyright (c) 2011 Ann Sandretto

First the good news, your cancer risks are very low if you have a healthy lifestyle. As many as 70% of known causes of cancers are avoidable and related to lifestyle. Your first line of defense, as expected, is avoidance of tobacco products but recent research has uncovered many small, surprising ways you can reduce your cancer risks.

14 Ways To Reduce Your Cancer RisksFilter Your Tap Water - You'll reduce your exposure to known or suspected carcinogens and hormone-disrupting chemicals. A new report from the President's Cancer Panel on how to reduce your cancer risks suggests filtered tap water is a safer bet than bottled water.

Water Down Your Risks - Drinking plenty of water and other liquids may reduce the risk of bladder cancer by diluting the concentration of cancer-causing agents in urine and helping to flush them through the bladder faster.

Marinate Meat Before Grilling - Processed, charred, and well-done meats can contain cancer-causing heterocylic amines, women's coats which form when meat is seared at high temperatures, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which get into food when it's charcoal broiled. If you do grill, add rosemary and thyme to your favorite marinade and soak meat for at least one hour before cooking. The antioxidant-rich spices can cut HCAs by as much as 87%.

Caffeinate Every Day - 5 or more cups of caffeinated coffee daily had a 40% decreased risk of brain cancer. It also reduces the risks of cancers of the pharynx and mouth almost as much.
Decaf had no comparable effect.

Load Up on Really Green Greens - Choose the darkest varieties. The chlorophyll that gives them their color is loaded with magnesium, which has been found to lower the risk of colon cancer in women. Just ? cup of spinach provides 75 mg of magnesium (20% of the daily value).

Snack on Brazil Nuts - They're a great source of selenium, an antioxidant that lowers the risk of bladder cancer in women. Other studies have found that people with high blood levels of selenium have lower rates of dying of lung and colorectal cancers. Researchers think selenium not only protects cells from free radical damage but may enhance immune function and suppress formation of blood vessels that nourish tumors.

Stop Topping Your Tank - The EPA and President's Cancer Panel say pumping one last squirt of gas into your car after the nozzle clicks off can spill fuel and foil the pump's vapor recovery system, which is designed to keep toxic chemicals out of the air.

Skip The Dry Cleaner - A solvent known as perc (short for perchloroethylene) that's used in traditional dry cleaning may cause liver and kidney cancers and leukemia, according to an EPA finding backed in early 2010 by the National Academies of Science. The main dangers are to workers who handle chemicals or treated clothes using older machines, although experts have not concluded that consumers are also at increased cancer risk.

Find Out Your Breast Density - Women whose mammograms have revealed breast density readings of 75% or more have a cancer risk of 4-5 times higher than that of women with low density scores. One theory is that denser breasts result from higher levels of estrogen, making exercise particularly important.

Burn Off Breast Cancer Risk With Exercise - Moderate exercise, such as brisk walking 2 hours per week, cuts risk of breast cancer by 18%.

Head Off Cell Phone Risks - Use your cell phone only for short calls or texts, or use a hands-free device. The point is more to preempt any risk than to protect against a proven danger. Evidence that cell phones increase brain cancer is "neither consistent nor conclusive," says the President's Cancer Panel report.

Block The Sun With Color - Choosing your outdoor outfit wisely may help protect against skin cancer. Research has found that blue and red fabrics offered significantly better protection against the sun's UV rays than white and yellow. And, don't forget to wear a hat - although melanoma can appear anywhere on the body, its 'more common in areas the sun hits.

Eat Clean Foods - the President's Cancer Panel recommends buying mean free to antibiotics and added hormones, which are suspected of causing endocrine problems, including cancer. The report also advises that you purchase produce grown without pesticides or wash conventionally grown food thoroughly to remove residues. The foods with the most pesticides are celery, peaches, strawberries, apples, and blueberries.

Switch to Powerhouse Foods

Why Buy Recycled Clothes?

Why buy new when you can get a designer outfit for 50 pounds or even dollars? Karen Powell explains second hand doesn't have to be second best.

I meet friends for dinner wearing a classic linen shirt, Armani trousers and a vintage suede jacket. At one point during the evening, the conversation turns to clothes. I reveal my outfit is second hand and all three pieces combined cost less than 50. Eyes widen and jaws drop. Dead silence. I seize the opportunity to share more about my passion for pre-owned fashion.

Charity shops, vintage boutiques and consignment shops are bulging with fashion cast-offs; pre-owned garments commonly referred to as second hand, recycled, gently-worn, used, like-new and vintage. These alternative shopping destinations offer variety and value. From basic T-shirts to designer suits, many of the items I find are barely worn, stylish and inexpensive.

I go on to boast about how every time I purchase used instead of new, I help reduce the stream of textile discards headed for the landfill. In addition, buying second hand conserves the natural resources used to manufacture new clothing.

Before I can finish, my friends bombard me with questions: Where is the best place to shop? Is there much selection? Can I bargain? What about stains and odour? Heres what I tell them:

Know Where To Shop

Success in finding second hand clothing that suits your individual style and budget largely depends on where you shop.

Fashion Basics: If youre looking for everyday casual clothing, albeit classic or contemporary, check out the large charity chains. You will find a vast selection of womens, mens and childrens clothing and accessories of various brands in fair to excellent condition. Prices are low to moderate. Fashion basics can easily be found at garage sales, flea markets and small second hand shops as well.

Designer Labels: A consignment shop is the place to go if you prefer moderate to high-end designer brands. Some sell exclusively women?s wear or children?s clothes, for example. While others offer clothing for the whole family. You will find a variety of upscale apparel in good to excellent condition. Even though youll pay more than charity shop prices, the savings are big when compared to buying new.

Vintage: For those of you who love the look of yesteryear, your best bet is to head straight to vintage boutiques, vintage expos, estate sales and on-line auction sites. Occasionally, I get lucky and find vintage pieces at charity shops and jumble sales. Due to the popularity of retro fashion, selection and prices will vary depending on the style, era and where you shop.

Check The Condition

Before you buy a second hand garment check for wear and stains particularly in areas that might not be noticeable right away such as inside collars and cuffs, crotch and underarms. Keep in mind: set-in food, ink or rust stains may be difficult or impossible to remove.

To check for threadbare spots or moth holes, open the garment and hold it up to the light. If you dont have what it takes to mend, leave well-worn items behind.

Most odours such as must, perfume and smoke can be removed. Always wash your second hand purchases prior to adding them to your wardrobe or drawer.

Save Time and Money

Keep an eye out for reductions and special sales. Second hand shops frequently offer daily discounts, as well as, price reductions during holidays and in-store events.

Time your shopping with the shops stocking schedule. Some resale shops put new items on the floor daily, others might stock once a week on a particular day.

Resale shops have a no return, no exchange policy. If youre looking to match a particular colour or style to something in your wardrobe, carry that item with you when shopping. If youre shopping for someone other than yourself, jot down a few basic measurements.

Be sure to bargain when you shop at flea markets, garage sales, vintage expos and women's coats antique stores. Always ask, Is this your best price? or Will you take (name your price) for it??

Donate or consign unwanted clothing and household fabric discards in useable condition to charity and consignment shops. Your recycling efforts can earn you cash.

Get Creative

If you cant find what youre looking for, make-it yourself! Theres plenty of creative potential in second hand clothing and other discarded textile items such as bedding, linens, curtains, etc. Customise used garments with recycled trims, embroidery, dye or fabric paint. Combine features from one garment with another to create an original design. Consider sheets, curtains or tablecloths as yardage for making new garments using a commercial sewing pattern or your own.

Katherine is a sewn-product designer and produces 2ndHandMade; a collection of sewing guides for turning used textile goods into new items. She shares her resourceful approach to make-your-own lifestyle products through a series of creative reuse classes that she teaches in San Francisco.

Conversation Starters And Other Conversation Tips

Conversation is a skill that takes practise to develop, and experts in the art of conversation make you feel right at home with them straight away! Starting a conversation is the most difficult part of the game; once the conversation has been started past a few sentences, it's usually relatively easy to keep it flowing. What you are looking to achieve when you practi fashion coats online se your conversation skills is to get the conversation to flow, without awkward pauses, and to make it about light topics. If you can manage that, and be actively interested in the conversation, then you'll do fine!

If you're reading this article, the chances are good that you're not that great at conversation. You've probably had plenty of situations where you're trying to think of something to say, and an awkward pause rears its ugly head! Hopefully this article will help steer you onto the right path towards becoming a conversation expert!

For conversation starters, you should ideally be looking for a topic that would engage the interest of the person with whom you will be speaking. For example, could you compliment them on their clothing or appearance? Are they carrying anything unusual? If you can't think of anything, maybe you could ask them for their opinion about some topic, such as which bottle of wine you should buy to complement a meal? A quick guide to making the conversation flow successfully follows.

Closed questions are questions for which a one-word answer will suffice, such as "Yes" or "No." "Do you live close by?" is an example of such a question. The trouble with these questions is that if the person you are talking to responds with a short answer like "Yes," there is nothing to latch on to that will allow you to develop the conversation further. It's best to avoid asking this type of question. If you are asked a closed question, you can help the conversation to flow by giving further details in your reply, and by asking a question in return. For example, a possible reply to "Do you live close by?" would be "Yes, I live about a quarter of a mile away, in the new housing estate. What do you think of the area?"

The question included in the answer given above is an example of an open question. Open questions are questions that require an answer with greater depth, such as, "I'm hosting a dinner party tonight. What wine would you recommend, and why?" The answer will give you more time and more information to allow you to move the conversation forward. Try to ask more of this sort of question and you will improve your conversation skills by leaps and bounds!

It's definitely worth asking questions about the person you are talking to, especially if you can notice details about them while doing so. For example, you could ask about the coat they are wearing. When they tell you where they got it, you could ask them what they like about that store, and what other stores they like to frequent! If you find they have a favourite subject, such as fashion, ask them lots of questions about that subject. People love to talk about themselves, so if you give them a chance, you can do plenty of listening and still come across as a great conversationalist! This is where you can start to really excel at the art of conversation.

You should also pay attention to your body language, making sure it is open and relaxed; leaning forward slightly, open arms and legs are in; leaning back with crossed arms and legs are definitely out! Also, be animated while you are talking. Moving your arms helps to illustrate points that you are making, and listening to someone speaking in a voice that naturally rises and falls in pitch is far more interesting than listening to somebody speaking in a monotone!

Try to catch their name, and use it every now and again. Three times or so in a first conversation would be good. Make sure you don't sound patronising, though. You're looking to remember their name if possible; you will score highly if you can do this well; and also, people love hearing their name!

There are certain subjects you should avoid if you are meeting someone for the first time, and want to move things forward. These are any subject that could be potentially explosive, such as religious views and politics. Try also not to bring the news into the conversation, except for light-hearted "dead donkey" pieces. Talking about someone who was murdered on the high street probably won't get you invited to dinner very quickly!

The vital thing that you must do to improve your conversation skills is to practise talking and listening to people! Practise wherever and whenever you can. Practise at parties, at the local bar, at the supermarket and on the high street. You will also improve your confidence. In fact, go and do some practising the very next opportunity you get! There's no time like the present to improve your conversation skills.

What You Should Know About Clamps

The wrong headset can cause head clamps, hotspots and pinching, which is why most manufacturers are designing aviation headsets with adjustable options. The clamps tug to the rim of the bike wheel, stopping the bike. Use chains with inch link sizes or greater with hooks or clamps to attach to the barbell.

Install the forks and torque the triple clamps to manufacturer's specification. Clamps should be tight; although not so tight that they are uncomfortable to wear. Although it is possible to buy clamps that join two corners at a time, it's simpler and quicker to clamp all four corners at once.

Gear clamps do you a favour and purchase stainless steel clamps over carbon steel. These clamps come in an amazing array of sizes to accommodate nearly any job. Recall how your mind started to fill with visions of life with your new favourite car - taking a relaxing drive for fresh air on a sunny Sunday afternoon, racing along windy open roads in a sports car that clamps onto the road, or cruising through town in a luxury car feeling high class.

Reconnect the clamps to the terminals and thinly coat them with petroleum jelly. Truck covers USA designed and manufactured the clamps themselves especially for this cover. Another option that works okay is to use one of those Stanley Vice Clamps that you squeeze to tighten and clamp the hose onto the opening on the tank.

Of course there are the smaller devices such as gluers and clamps that keep projects together while you work. The suction clamps would in this case have and 'L' bracket on the end to insure that it rests in place so the bullets clear the wall. Some designs are supported through corner brackets clamps or rack crossbars.

Rotate periodically to lubricate the wheel bearings and consider fitting wheel clamps for security. So we have a bin filled with things like table cloth for picnic table, tablecloth clamps, can opener, corkscrew, cutlery, etc. To complete your design there are high grade ball ties (bungee), tarp ties, foot pads, canopy anchors, S-hooks, grommets, tarp tape, spring clamps, fabric clips, ratchet style tie down straps, trigger style tie down straps.

But be sure these machines are not cheap in the least; expect to pay over $100 for the most basic model that clamps to a tabletop. Then clean the battery terminals and the inside of the cable clamps with a post and clamp cleaner. The cable is conn fashion jackets ected to a set of clamps with brake pads.

Set-Up Box for Electrical Cords a second set-up box is needed for extension cords, power bar, clamps, duct tape (to tape cords down), electrical tape, glass cleaner, paper towels and spare light bulbs. Clamps When you want to hold two pieces of wood together, either with glue, or hardware such as screws, it is often handy to use clamps to hold the wood while you work or until the glue dries. This is convenient, however, if is care is not take, the glue will penetrate through the pores of the wood and stick clamps or fingers to the model airplane.

Almost all racks will have options for the number of clamps it has. A jigsaw, clamps, an orbital sander, a drill and perhaps an electric planer and a belt sander with a few assorted grade belts would be handy. If needed, you may also take out the leg clamps from the body.

Development of the Self Voice and Mind Behind the Scene of Womens Issues

Several books were published in regards to women's issues, which lead to development of self, voice and mind. So many of the books published today talk about women's issues, which these authors bring into light what they think in relation to assimilation of knowledge.

Some of the popular issues addressed after interviews were in relation to gender, relationships and gender-segregation. The issues discussed brought into focus processes of learning and the standards of common people, including moral.

In theory with concrete evidence to back many claims, some authors set out to discuss knowledge. Women were asked in some interviews how they view themselves in the public eye. During the interviews, authors decided that the very many women view themselves factors into their self-perceptions.

Silence was discussed. Many women showed traits of believing and trusting in almost any authority figure. Thus, in concluded interviews, some women felt that stereotype factored into the way they felt about themselves. We see that influences has persuaded many women to take on traits of stereotyping themselves, despite it is immorally wrong.

Down through the centuries women have been silenced, believing that speaking out will only cause problems. The issues derived from White Supremacy thinking have drifted many women into believing they are second to man. The brainwashed influencing actions lead many women to believe they do not even have the right to voice their opinion.

Major suppression then has caused serious emotional stress on these women, and has caused them much heartache. Families, men, etc has forced women for too long to suppress their emotions, which is way many women's issues are being addressed today.

We as women must not accept that what an authority tells us is right. Rather we must seek our own truths to discover our individuality. We must leave the passive attitude behind us to a large degree and stand up to speak out. Women need to make a difference in the world by addressing the many issues we face today.

So many authority figures that act with immature minds may tell us to keep a lid on it; however, we must not believe these authorities, since we see undeveloped minds speaking. Would you listen to your five-year-old if he/she told you to keep a lid on it? In comparison, those that belittle women and put them below them are minds of five-year-olds in action.

Women, like men should be respected. We must build confidence, self-respect and stress our views and ideas when thoughts develop. We must learn to express our emotions freely and not believe any authority, just because they said so.

Authors today have discussed subjective understanding. Some people believe that because a woman is conformed to subjective knowledge that she functions or thinks that she is better than others, and that she is stubborn.

Contrary to these notions, women of subjective nature put themselves below others, and their ideas focus on respect. These women may still speak thei women's coats r mind, yet they respect their husband as the head of the home, and respect other authorities.

Sarah, Abraham's wife is a fine example of a subjective thinker and by no means was she haughty in any way rather she was humble.

Some authors carried on with defining procedural knowledge. With this knowledge, women conform to voicing with reason. According to some of the authors, these women have a level heads and clearly grasp their strengths and abilities. Some authors defined these women in parts rather than a whole. The authors in question used separating and connecting views, stating that women connected to others by dissecting or analyzing subjects while relying on others to conclude. Under discussion, these women were claimed to relax, and discuss ideas in a peaceful setting.

According to perspective views of opinionates, these women were non-prone to maliciously striking out at others. Contrary to their findings, there are no secrets that many of these types of women engage in gossip, etc, and often find themselves in challenges with authority figures.

The separate versions of procedural intellect claim that women of this nature tend to join in discussions without feeling hostile. Thus, disciplinary subjectivity proved to be one of the more effective ways to develop self, voice, and mind.

American shutters

Shutters are perhaps one of the few timeless architectural extensions that are available today, no matter how modern a house looks; all it takes is a shutter to add that homely touch. Traditionally shutters have been designed using wood, however newer shutters are designed from a combination of new age materials like aluminium, fibreglass and a combination of other materials like plastics. If you are looking for some help and guidance on using shutters in your house then this article is meant to be a guide to help you out.

The first step is to understand that not all shutters are the same, depending on their area of application shutters are defined as exterior or interior shutters. If you plan to use shutters within the house then such shutters are termed as interior shutters, however a majority of shutters used today are used externally in windows and doors. The first thing you need to do is to understand what your requirements are, if you are planning on buying only exterior shutters, internal shutters or both.

If you are planning on buying shutters for your interiors then the best option is to go for wooden shutters, wooden shutters are elegant, and have no trouble blending in with any d??cor, in fact the reason why wooden shutters are so popular with people is because they can be painted over, given different finishes or simply be used by applying a single coat of varnish, without a doubt if you are planning on using shutters for your interiors then you should use wooden shutters. This will ensure that you don?€?t end up spending money for wooden shutters that eventually get disfigured due to frequent exposure to water and snow. The only thing to keep in mind is the climate and the amount of wear and tear the shutters are expected to bear.

Choosing the right material for your shutters

As mentioned earlier in the article, shutters are made of a variety of materials, from traditional materials like wood to new age materials like fibreglass. Today choice is not an issue the only limitation in choosing a shutter is, the price, the area of application and the style. If you are looking for somethi fashion coats online ng that will last for a long time and price is not a constraint then fibreglass shutters are the best option. However if you prefer more traditional shutters then wood is the medium you should consider, similarly if durability is your prime concern then PVC based shutters are a good idea. At the end of the day a shutter should be a blend of all the qualities you want.
